Rock Island Armory’s NEW VR80 Semi-Auto Shotgun for 2019

Rock Island Armory recently introduced a new shotgun to their lineup called the VR80. The RIA VR80 is a semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun that uses a five shell box magazine and a gas piston system that functions smooth and flawlessly. It will accept both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shotgun shells. The lower receiver and fore-end hand-guard are made of anodized aluminum which adds weight (9 pounds loaded with five shells) to the shotgun thus decreasing the felt recoil. The polymer stock has a connecting arm to the grip that gives it a different look as Rock Island calls it a thumb-hole stock. The VR80 comes with flip up rear and front sights along with three chokes (cylinder bore, modified and full) which is a nice touch for a shotgun that has an MSRP of $699.

Understanding Predator Psychopaths

The word “psychopath” can be first found in the mid 19th Century. It is derived from the Greek language in the words “psyche” and “pathos”, which mean “sick mind” or “suffering soul.” If you ask, “what is a psychopath” you will probably hear answer along these lines. They are loners. They have no souls. They have no empathy for people. They prey on the weak. They don’t mix well with others. Yet, many psychopaths live intertwined within our lives. A psychopath can be a close friend, boss, or even a spouse. Psychopaths are people whose only goal is to take advantage of others; they have no empathy, remorse, or feelings for their victims.

FN FNS-9c Review

My story with the FNS-9c is an interesting one. When I first got into firearms my first purchase was the CZ 75B…the runner up by a very close margin was the FN FNS-9 full size model. The balance was real nice and it felt good in the hand. Back in February while looking for a subcompact for possible summer carry, I toyed with a Glock 26, but ultimately didn’t like the size. As a bigger guy I can get by with concealing larger guns even for deep concealment. I checked out a few other subcompacts and I wasn’t really feeling them; I also wasn’t considering a single stack at that point.

What do New York and China have in common?

… it’s not just the Chinese government that is monitoring…judging… deciding the fate of citizens. It’s social media giants that are participating in it as well; willingly.

George Orwell’s book 1984 when it was written was a thing of fiction, today it is becoming more and more of a reality.

Privacy and the Second Amendment

New York continues to want to invade your privacy if you want a gun. In the latest round they are wanting to search your social media to purchase a rifle or a shotgun. NY Senate Bill S9197 would require you to give NY State access to all of your social media accounts to purchase a rifle or shotgun. We have to let our representatives know that we have a right to our privacy and a right to self-protection. These rights are not granted by government and as such are not to be limited by government.
